Using Coupons
A coupon is a way for you to verify that a user has scanned an image, or has won a contest. You can use it for:
- Doing Scratch & Win with prices where each winning user would present you his winning coupon. With this in place, you’ll be able to securly verify that a user has won the given price of the contest.
- Offering global / unique / per user discounts that can be securly validated.
How to verify a coupon
The coupon number (represented by a QR Code) can be verified by scanning the QR Code using the vidiCoupons app. The app can be downloaded by clicking the corresponding link:
When the app is open, enter your login information and scan the user’s coupon QR Code with your smartphone camera. A validation screen will then be displayed on your smartphone.
How it works
- You place a Coupon annotation in one of the scene of your content. If you want to display a coupon in a scratch & win scenario, place the coupon inside the Winning scene of the Scrtach & Win.
- When a user is presented the scene with your coupon, a unique number will be generated and assigned to him. This will be his coupon number. This number will never changes for that particular content, even if the user scans open again the content.
- In the case where the coupon is placed in a Scratch & Win, the coupon will only be displayed to the user if a price is still available, in case where the number of prices is fixed.
- The user will then have his winning coupon on screen with a QR Code.
- You can then verify the coupon with the vidiCoupons app (see above section), to validate the coupon in order to make it is valid and not a counterfeit coupon.
